1. Authentication: Application Passwords

Orneos account identity is managed centrally by the Orneos OpenID Connect provider. To protect the primary account password (which also secures the @orneos.eu mailbox), third-party device registration flows on the cloud host are not used.

To call the Cloud APIs (WebDAV, OCS, CalDAV, CardDAV, Talk) from a script, server integration, or desktop client, the user creates a dedicated application password in https://app.orneos.eu/settings/user/security (“Devices & sessions”), which can be revoked individually at any time.

• HTTP Basic authentication: username:app-password over HTTPS only
• Include the required OCS-APIRequest: true header on all OCS endpoints (/ocs/v2.php/...)
• Append ?format=json or send Accept: application/json on OCS requests

2. Files (WebDAV)

Each user’s Orneos Drive storage is accessible via WebDAV at https://app.orneos.eu/remote.php/dav/files/<username>/.

3. Cloud Profile & Shares (OCS v2)

Use the OCS v2 API to inspect storage quota usage and manage Orneos Drive share links.

4. Calendar (CalDAV) & Contacts (CardDAV)

Calendars and address books follow standard CalDAV (RFC 4791) and CardDAV (RFC 6352) endpoints under https://app.orneos.eu/remote.php/dav/.

5. Orneos Meet / Talk (Rooms & Chat)

Create video meeting rooms or post automated notifications to a team conversation via the OCS Talk API.
